This holiday is a combination of our one week holiday in Cretan Trails & Tavernas and our one week holiday in Crete's Villages & Coastline
Crete's pristine White Mountains invite you to venture into the heart of the island's untamed wilderness. These distant peaks often retain their snowy allure well into late spring, glistening like marble under the summer sun. With over 50 majestic gorges,
including the renowned Samaria Gorge, as well as the Imbros Gorge which we walk, this region is a haven for avid explorers.
The western part of Crete unfolds as a paradise for hikers. Here, the stunning backdrops of towering mountains in one direction and seascapes in the other creates a unique landscape crisscrossed by numerous scenic trails. The island's natural diversity, teeming with endemic flora and fauna, unfolds before your eyes, offering breath-taking vistas and serene picnic spots that enhance the allure of your hiking experience. Along the way, ancient mule tracks lead you to awe- inspiring hilltops, past remote villages, and weathered archaeological remnants. Tranquil tavernas or a wine tasting at the end of our days’ walking can provide delightful respites from the afternoon sun at the ends of our walks.
Our ideally located hotel awaits you in the enchanting Venetian harbour town of Chania, serving as your gateway to a week of exploration in the western corner of Crete.
